At the age of 36, Ray illustrates no signs of decreased abilities. Dating back over the last three seasons, Whit has not missed a single game, and has shown goal amounts of 31, 29 and 31. He has finished in the top-2 of his teams scoring for the past three seasons.
Last season, Ray was second on his team in points, only behind Sami Kapanen. Whit also led his team in PP goals with 7, and was third in the entire league in that category. Those team-leading 7 PP goals helped Vancouver have the best PP in the league at 23.2% efficiency. Ray also scored 31 goals last season which was second (on team) only to Kapanen which helped Vancouver to the 8th best offensive efficiency overall. Whitney was also 13th in the entire league for left winger scoring with 71 total points.
Thank you for your consideration.

Whitney has begun showing signs of his age as his productions has been dropping over the last few seasons. +/- cut in half and his hit total dropped significantly. Unfortunately for Ray, I just don't see where his ratings should have remained steady. Denied.

I appreciate your feedback, however, I believe that the appeal process is pertaining to the previous season play/statistics. Last season, Ray increased his goal total from 29 to 31. He also increased his PPG's from 2 to 7 and his GWG's 1 to 3. Yes, his +/- dropped off, however, I believe that is due to his team finishing in 10th place in the Western Conference (+10) to when his team finished 5th in the conference (+20). Also, the team defensive statistics were drastically different in both seasons. Last season, the goalie tandem accumulated a 3.10 GAA as opposed to the previous season of 2.69GAA. That is a drastic enough change that can significantly alter a top-line forward's +/-.
I believe that if we are talking about where Ray was 5 years ago compared to where he is today, sure I can see your points. However, Ray has already been deducted attribute points in previous years for his digression. However, from season 6 to season 7, Ray increased his goal amounts, and his clutch goal categories (PP, GWG). Ray is not a power forward, and is not getting paid to play the body. Therefore, body checks are not an accurate statistic to determine is he is declining. However, we can look at his games played over the last several season, and he has not missed a game.
We are asking you to look at his increased offensive output for last season, and urge you to reconsider. Thank you for your time and consideration.
