Well ladies and gentlemen, the off-season is upon us and the Vegas Golden Knights have some work to do. After most players had career years, and rerated quite well, we look foward to seeing some progress in the 2011/12 season. Led by Nathan Horton up front and Ray Emery in net, the Knights look to move up the standings next season and fight vigorously for a playoff spot.
We had a great defensive season, but need to add some goals. While we may start the season with most of the team intact, a few new additions to the team should help us score a bit more. With Adam Henrique expected to fight for a roster spot, we hope that the SC rerates of our other forwards will go along way to improve the fortunes of the team.
As for the upcoming draft, we hold the #10 pick and expect to get a player that will only further our teams progress in the future. And with loads of cap space, and only a few players needing raises, we expect to be fully engulfed in free agent negotiations for additional help (hopefully not getting scooped as Pat Brisson plays favourites).
Only time will tell if the team continues in an upward trajectory or crashes and burns its way to a full rebuild. If the hockey goods require a rebuild we will then have a chance to add to our already impressive prospect pool.
